Upsoar Support and Training: Nurtured Heart Approach™ by Howard Glasser

Do you for the most part have a school made up of well behaved classrooms, that in turn are full of  productive, well behaved students?

Would you like to further improve student and classroom productivity and student and teacher happiness? by only altering what you do for a few seconds per class?

Through applying the principles of the Nurtured Heart Approach™ to School classrooms, educators in the USA and increasingly schools within the UK are reaping the benefits of utilising a few minutes of intervention within the school day to achieve calm, responsive, enthusiastic students who are able to self-regulate, understand and reset their own negative behaviours and who know their skill set, are confident in the subjects they can do well and try to achieve in the areas they struggle.

I can provide bespoke support to include:

  • teacher support in individual classes AND/OR  whole school teacher training in the Nurtured Heart Approach™
  • group work with excluded children to reincorporate them into the classroom.
  • prevention work with children at risk of exclusion.
  • parent support to take the techniques into the home for a joined up approach to supporting the difficult or challenging child.

Upsoar School Support: Theraplay™

In addition I am able to offer individual or group Theraplay™® in school and within the home to support child behaviour and promote positive relationships.This can consist of full Theraplay™ sessions with children or training for teachers to enable you to be able to incorporate “Theraplay moments” into your teaching environment.

Theraplay can be utilised to encourage a wide range of positives attributes these include:

  • cooperation
  • consideration
  • empathy
  • friendship

Classroom management can be improved through:

  • calming children after breaks.
  • enhancing class adhesion, attachment and trust of the teacher.
  • settling conflicts or issues that upset children’s feelings or emotions which can block learning.

Delivery of Equine Facilitated Learning utilising horses to improve behaviour and offer a limited number of students therapeutic support and learning support.
